Starting to air on Sunday, 15 June at 20:00 on Mzansi Magic, Channel 161, the groundbreaking drama promises to deliver another riveting chapter in the saga of one of Africa’s most iconic leaders, Shaka Zulu.  

Fresh off its historic sweep of 12 South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTAs), including Best TV Drama and Best Actor for Thembinkosi Mthembu, the series continues to redefine South African storytelling. 

Season 2 plunges viewers into the tumultuous rise of Shaka Zulu as he ascends to power, navigating ambition, betrayal, and the weight of legacy.  

A New Chapter Unfolds

Picking up with Shaka (Lemogang Tsipa) and his mother Nandi’s arrival at KwaNobamba, the season traces his early reign as king. Tsipa’s commanding portrayal captures Shaka’s evolution from warrior to visionary leader, while South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTA) winner Thembinkosi Mthembu reprises his role as the cunning Dingiswayo, setting the stage for a clash of ideals and authority.
