A Quick Step-by-Step Breakdown

#1. Load Your Track

To begin, import the song you wish to edit into Virtual DJ by dragging and dropping it directly onto one of the decks.

#2. Activate STEMS Mode

Virtual DJ’s STEMS feature enables you to separate a track into five components: vocals, instruments, bass, kick, and hi-hat. To activate this feature:

  • Click the STEMS button on your deck.
  • Wait a few seconds while Virtual DJ processes the track.

#3. Mute the Vocals

Once STEMS are active, simply mute the vocal channel. This instantly removes the vocal layer, leaving you with a clean instrumental.

#4. Fine-Tune the Mix

Use EQ and effects to polish your instrumental. You can adjust bass, treble, and midrange to enhance clarity or add creative flair.

#5. Record Your Output

To save your instrumental:

  • Hit the record button in Virtual DJ.
  • Play the track from start to finish.
  • Your new instrumental will be saved in your designated recording folder.
